The Magic Shoppe is your average old casino game, only it’s fun and entertaining for people who don’t know how to play. The concept of the Magic Shoppe game is very simple. You roll a die and choose a number between one and nine, then spin it and see if it comes up. If it does, you win the pot – and if it doesn’t, well, you lose some money. Easy enough, right?
The Magic Shoppe was created by Steve Nison, who claims that he came up with the idea while visiting a casino in Las Vegas. There, he saw a game that offered real cash rewards, which seemed like a great deal. So, he put together a team of experts, and the rest is history.
The goal of the game is to become the first person to win a full two-hundred coins by spinning the “lucky” coin. The rules are very simple: every time you place a spin on the Magic Shoppe, someone will come up with the answer to a question you have asked them. For example, you might ask the shopper, “Who do you think is going to win?” The shopper will hand you three coins. Then, if you have a correct answer, you get two coins back, and so on. The shopper will not reveal his/her secret, or give you his/her name (which would defeat the purpose), so it’s up to you to try and figure out who is the winner by following clues you’ve noticed throughout the store.
Each round of betting, you will match the five symbols on the right hand side of the Shoppe to the corresponding number on the left hand side of the shop. The number on the left is always a letter. For example, if it’s a B, then that means you must bet a B. The symbols you must match up to are in the same color order as the coins in the shoppe, and they are always placed in pairs. This makes it easy for everyone to see which symbol goes with what, so it’s usually simple to figure out who gets which reward.
After all the matches, there are five “calls” made to the Magic Shoppe. These calls represent the specific coins you were given when you came into the store. The call pays for buying a present, paying rent, buying food, paying taxes, or buying presents for other shoppers. When these calls are made, the shopper gets to choose which symbol they want to match the symbol on the call to, and they get five coins for each correct answer. Remember, though, that the fewer incorrect answers you have, the better your payouts will be.
The second part of The Magic Shoppe’s trick is called The Spin. It’s a little bit like the lottery, except that you don’t get your money when you hit a combination. Instead, you pay the price you paid for the call right after you’ve found the correct answer. The spin pays off best when there are a lot of call paylines, and it can take some time to find the right symbols.
The third part of The Magic Shoppe’s sleazy business is called the Double Spots. What happens here is that you find two call paylines on a video slot machine, and you select two symbols from those paylines to place on the video slot machine. Now every time you play a game at that machine, the machine counts up to two, then it checks and sees if you had a winning combination. The higher your winnings, the higher the value of each coin that the video slot machine puts up.
The last part of The Magic Shoppe’s trick is called the Sun Spots. Again, what happens here is that you see two coins on the video slot machine. You select one symbol from those two coins and place your mark by pressing the corresponding number on the machine. When the sun spins and reaches its peak, the video slot machine spits out two more coins, with the same symbols on each one. The best way to win with this game is to select symbols that not only appear on the screen, but which also aren’t very common.
